Hoteles de Gipuzkoa will hold the third edition of the Training Forum on 26 November at the NH Aranzazu Hotel. The meeting will bring together professionals from the hotel industry, representatives from training centres and experts in employability and talent to address the challenges and opportunities in specialised training, which is key for the more than 300 establishments and over 2,000 jobs generated by the sector in Gipuzkoa.
The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome and remarks by Raúl Fernández Acha, president of Hoteles de Gipuzkoa, who will contextualise Hoteles de Gipuzkoa's commitment to training and promoting talent in this third edition: ‘the importance of promoting training to maintain the excellence and professionalism of the hotel industry in Gipuzkoa’. After his speech, there will be an institutional opening and a presentation of the latest developments in regional training, with the participation of the following centres: Basque Culinary Centre, CEBANC, University of Deusto, Usurbilgo Lanbide Eskola, Nazaret and Zubiri Manteo.
The keynote speech of the day will be given by Ana María Camps, Director of Training and Studies at CEHAT, on the European PANTOUR project, which promotes innovation and skills training throughout Europe. The main objective of this platform is to bridge the gap between qualification needs and existing education and training in the tourism sector. Camps will discuss the need to bring the academic world and the reality of the workplace closer together.
This will be followed by a round table discussion with different professional profiles entitled ‘Career paths in the hotel industry: challenges, opportunities and learning’.
The session will conclude with a networking space that will allow attendees and participants to share experiences. The Gipuzkoa Hotel Training Forum is supported by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the Basque Government.
