Care and training of teams, the central theme of the 3rd Gipuzkoa Hotels Forum

More than 80 hotel-sector professionals and representatives from training centres took part in the 3rd Training Forum of Gipuzkoa Hotels, held on 26 November at the NH Aranzazu Hotel in Donostia.

The event, supported by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the Basque Government, was consolidated as a key space for driving professionalisation, attracting talent and strengthening the positioning of the destination.

During the day, the association’s president, Raúl Fernández, underlined the importance of training as a pillar of the sector and a guarantee of tourism quality. For their part, regional minister Azahara Domínguez and deputy minister Jakes Aguirrezabal agreed on the need to promote qualified and decent employment as the basis for sustainable and competitive tourism.

The forum included training presentations, a round table with hotel executives and a talk by special guest Ana María Camps, Director of Training and Studies at the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), on the European project Pantour, focused on aligning training with the real needs of the sector. The day concluded with a networking space that further strengthened collaboration between hotels, educational centres and public institutions.
